Fall Trend Update: Statement Sweaters
Lately I've been finding ways to update my Fall wardrobe. Last week I talked about spicing up your Fall wardrobe in this post, and today, I'm talking about my favorite statement sweaters. Last year, it was all about the statement sleeve, but this year, think asymmetrical cuts, bold colors and fun textures! I think that Fall is the time to experiment with different trends, styles and layers and to really step out of your fashion comfort zone! In the summer, you can only wear a dress so many different ways, but in the Fall and Winter, you can easily try new trends by adding different layers, adding fun accessories (I'm really loving the beret trend this season), or updating a staple like the sweater.
This sweater that I'm wearing from House of Harlow 1960 has both an asymmetrical cut and it's in this fun fuzzy texture that is so soft! In my opinion, when styling a statement sweater, it's better to keep the bottom simple. It's perfect to pair on top of jeans for a more casual look, or with a suede skirt, like I did here, for a fancier look! (side note: one of my Fall and Winter staples is the suede skirt. You can wear it on it's own for warmer days, or throw on a pair of over-the-knee boots and tights for colder days. It's so versatile and you can wear it with pretty much everything! This one I'm wearing from Blank Denim is under $100 and the quality is top notch!)
